“Slashtag” Baseball Cards for
Tradeshows
What they asked us to do...
How would you promote the advantages of a new search engine technology at a tradeshow, where so many products are vying for people’s attention? Following the viral launch video we created for them, blekko, asked Alligator Planet to create an eye-catching handout for its upcoming tradeshows in March, 2011.
What we did...
After several collaborative brainstorming sessions with our client, Alligator Planet designed a set of baseball card packs as handouts. The 20 card designs we generated were comprised of photos with search terms that served as ironic captions but would also provide meaningful search results. In addition, we commissioned a number of comic artists to design strips that promote blekko’s usefulness.
Our results...
24,000 cards printed and handed out at several shows, including South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. The cards increased blekko’s visibility while building this young company’s brand.
