Go Green Stamps
What they asked us to do...
Eli Noyes was asked to develop a series of images around the theme of “green living”. Digging into his personal experience at Climate Cartoons and his own eco-friendly lifestyle, Eli developed five initial sketches of simple actions each us can take to Go Green. With his sister, graphic designer Derry Noyes, Eli added more ideas until he had over 20 possible stamp designs. The best 16 of these were presented to the US Stamp Commission, who enthusiastically approved Eli and Derry’s work.
What we did...
Eli created the final artwork for 16 First Class postage stamps for the US Postal Service®. With Go Green, the U.S. Postal Service® seeks to raise awareness of simple actions each of us can take to conserve natural resources and promote the health of our environment.
Our results...
Eli gets the point across in a colorful and playful manner, conveying a positive message: things we can easily do to have an immediate impact on the air we breathe and the energy we consume.
Go Green stamps went on sale at post offices and online, starting April 14, 2011. The stamps are printed with soy-based inks on recycled paper.
The San Francisco Chronicle and Noe Valley Voice covered Eli’s designs. Listen to Eli discuss the project with the EPA Pacific Southwest Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld in his podcast.
